Happy Hippos & Hats!

A couple of weeks ago, our three year old class at Patchwork Preschool discovered a very happy hippopotamus that loves hats!  We tried on lots of different kinds of hats too!  Which is your favorite?

107 Years Young!

Happy birthday, Dr. Seuss!  We love your wonderful books!  So today at Patchwork Preschool Provo, we celebrated your 107th birthday by reading "The Cat in the Hat," making ourselves some hats of our own, and eating a brownie in your honor!  

How Does The Mail Get To Us?

Today Patchwork Preschool took a tour of the post office to see what happens to the mail when we drop it off!  

We saw all the back rooms of the post office where they sort the mail.  We also learned that most of the sorting is done at night when we are asleep!

 

We watched this machine sort 7-8 letters per second!  It was so fast, the letters were a blur!

We saw lots of mail stacked in bins ready to go to this place or that place.

Thanks for the tour, Mark!  We had a great time and learned a lot!

After the tour, we all got to personally mail some letters to our grandparents!  We can't wait to get some mail in return!

Safety First!

This month we've learned all about community helpers.  We explored the in's & out's of what it means to be a dentist, fire fighter, doctor, postal worker and police officer.  Our students learned their safety rules so well that each one was awarded with an "Honorary Police Officer" badge to take home and wear.  Great job little ones!

Zoo!

Our three year old class has been learning about zoo animals.  So we took a trip to the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum to see if there were any zoo animals there.  Do you see any?  (Hint: don't count the six little monkeys in front!)
